One of the main purposes of their art is to create a warm and inviting community where people can see themselves being represented.

Artists Bio
Kris Lodu (They/Them) explores topics such as self-image, sexuality, mental health and gender identity through the use of bright colours and human form. Each piece is a representation of their visual diaries, including how they digest and process their own feelings and emotions. Kris started painting in the winter of 2019, surrounding themselves with a vibrant colour pallet to offset Toronto's grey, dark, desolate winters. They found that working with and being surrounded by these bright colours in their tiny studio lifted their mood and helped their mental health. Kris started working with human figures by drawing themselves first to help understand their own body and self-image, after they started drawing friends, and now they draw everyone, focusing on Queer people. Kris is currently attending OCADU's for Art Curation and Criticism to pursue their passion for curatorial exhibitions that focus on emerging queer and trans artists.
