Collection: Hi I’m Not Here Right Now
We are very excited to announce Hi, I’m Not Here Right Now (and please don’t leave me a message), a solo exhibition from Sweetpea artist Natalie Wesselius.
Here’s what Natalie has to say: “I float through life using sarcasm like a coping mechanism. And so when it comes to my paintings, they are a depiction of this constant humiliating process of healing and trauma. These traces of trauma act like ghosts; they are still present in absence. I hope to give insight into understanding working-class culture, mental wellness using psycho-objects, but also a questioning of what fabricates a reality.“
This show includes a new series of work reflective of her practice, processing anxiety and commodification in domestic and working-class environments. There are over 15 artworks that have not been exhibited, including experiments in scale and colour.
