Lauren Mask is a Canadian multidisciplinary artist with a focus in abstract painting. Originally from Ottawa, ON, she recently graduated with her BFA from Concordia University in Montreal, QC. Now residing in Rossland, British Columbia experiencing slower West Coast small town living for the first time, she continues to work on her practices in a personal studio.
Lauren's work is an exploration of colour interaction, depth of space, and the relation between forms. Her primary drive is the curation of colour, working both from intuition and by inspiration of pallets found occurring in everyday life. Using fluid acrylic paint to stain the canvas, it is a personal instinct that drives her compositions. This instinct can lead some works to the creation of free-flowing organic pieces, while other follow a stronger form. Within her practice, Lauren strives to create works that underline the significance of colour in life.
