Esther Imm is a textile artist who was drawn to quilt design as a way to explore abstraction and construct it into tactile form. Her work is based on intuition and spontaneity of execution, each piece is found through experiment. As a woman working in contemporary craft, she hopes that through her work, craft can be seen as art. She uses colour and form to create strong visual images, which up close are held together by tiny hand stitches.
All works are quilted by hand. She lives and works in Toronto, Canada.
